The National Indigenous Training Academy (NITA), based at Ayers Rock Resort, is searching for a Youth Worker to live and work onsite at Yulara, NT which is 20 min drive from Uluru.
Our residential program supports up to 80 trainees in dormitory‐style accommodation as they complete their traineeship at Ayers Rock Resort. As a Wellbeing Support Worker you will ensure that every trainee feels a sense of connection, safety and pride, and that they feel at home during their trainee journey.
About The Role
* Relational & practical support: coordinate practical support (for example, transport to medical appointments) to assist trainees in meeting their needs.
* Facility management: undertake daily tasks to enhance and maintain the presentation and operation of the residential facility.
* Activities delivery: design, plan and deliver culturally safe activities to enhance the social, emotional, spiritual and cultural wellbeing of trainees.
* Mentoring: provide mentoring to support trainees to successfully complete their traineeship and achieve their personal and professional goals.
About You
You are passionate about supporting young adults to achieve their goals and understand the unique and diverse strengths and challenges facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people. Experience in social and emotional support work is essential.
A minimum Cert III Community Services or Cert III Youth Work qualification is required, and a Working with Vulnerable People Check must be obtained before starting with us.
