About the Role
In your role as the Senior Project Engineer at Proserpine Mill, you will lead major capital projects that support the site’s ongoing reinvestment in critical factory assets and infrastructure. As the most senior project engineering position on site, you will manage project risk, delivery and analysis across multiple complex projects, ensuring assets continue to meet operational and business requirements. You will work closely with site teams and external service providers to deliver key upgrades and replacements of ageing equipment, with modern technology and innovative engineering solutions. This is a hands‑on role with exposure to a wide variety of projects across the mill. You will join a highly supportive team that values innovation, collaboration and professional development. Strong career progression opportunities are available, with pathways into Engineering Superintendent, Project or Engineering Manager roles in the future.
Role Responsibilities
* Lead major engineering and capital projects across the mill, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time and within budget.
* Work closely with Operations, Maintenance and contractors to upgrade and improve critical factory equipment and assets.
* Manage project budgets, timelines, contractors and risk to ensure successful project delivery and strong operational outcomes.
* Support continuous improvement and innovation initiatives that improve site reliability, efficiency and long-term sustainability.
* Build strong working relationships across the site while contributing to a positive, high‑performing and safety‑focused team culture.
About you
* Engineering qualifications and experience within a manufacturing, industrial or sugar production environment.
* Proven experience leading projects and managing stakeholders in a fast‑paced operational setting.
* Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships across teams.
* The ability to analyse operational and financial information to identify improvements and drive successful project outcomes.
* Experience using CMMS, work management systems and project management software.
