Job Opportunity: Mental Health Nurse

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals by working as a skilled mental health nurse. This role offers a chance to support recovery, foster connections within the community, and grow professionally.

* Conduct comprehensive assessments, including mental state examinations and risk evaluations, to ensure effective care planning.
* Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each individual's needs.
* Administer medications safely and monitor their effects to optimize patient outcomes.
* Provide education and referrals to relevant community services, empowering patients to take control of their well-being.
* Promote health and social inclusion initiatives, driving positive change in the community.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to drive quality improvement and maintain clinical compliance.


About You

We are seeking an exceptional candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

* A tertiary qualification in nursing and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* A postgraduate qualification in mental health or addictions, or be actively working towards one.
* National Police Clearance (within 6 months), First Aid/CPR certification, Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and a valid driver's license.


Essential Skills & Experience

* Experience in mental health or AOD settings, including clinical assessments, risk management, and care planning.
* Knowledge of psychiatric medications and medication management.
* Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
* The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
* Familiarity with client databases and Microsoft Office.
* Experience supporting individuals withdrawing from alcohol and other drugs is highly valued.


Desirable Qualifications

* Lived experience of mental health recovery, either personally or as a family member.


Working Arrangements

* Part-time position, working 3 days per week: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
