Newmont Tanami is on Aboriginal freehold land 540km northwest of Alice Springs. It is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset in a core Newmont region. The Tanami Expansion 2 project, aims to extend the mine life beyond 2040, investing in a hoisting shaft which will increase the production of the underground mine from 2.6 Mtpa to 3.2 Mtpa. Both the successful exploration within the underground operation and implementation of the first Tanami Expansion has laid the foundation to further develop the operation to remain a major contributor to the Newmont portfolio. A fully equipped camp is located 40km from the site offering leisure facilities for those flying in from Perth, Brisbane, Alice Springs or Darwin.

Join us at Newmont, a global leader in gold mining, and take on a critical role at our Tanami site in the Northern Territory. We're seeking a skilled and reliable Plumber to support the safe and efficient operation of our facilities—from borefields and RO plants to processing infrastructure and accommodation camps.

As a Maintenance Plumber at Tanami, you'll be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of a broad range of plumbing systems vital to both operational and residential areas of the site. This includes ensuring water supply integrity, managing wastewater systems, and contributing to camp upkeep to support our FIFO workforce.


What You'll Be Doing

* Maintain borefields and reverse osmosis (RO) plants to ensure reliable water supply to the processing plant and camp.
* Perform general plumbing maintenance across the site, including underground leak repairs, fixture replacements, and servicing of amenities in shared and private areas.
* Manage wastewater infrastructure, including ablution blocks, grease traps, and sewer lines for both potable and raw water systems.


Key Responsibilities

* Install plumbing systems and fixtures across surface operations.
* Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
* Diagnose and repair faults such as leaks, blockages, and pressure issues.
* Resolve water-related challenges, including contamination risks.
* Adhere to mine site safety procedures and regulatory standards.
* Keep detailed records of work performed.
* Collaborate with other trades and operational teams to support site-wide reliability.


Skills & Experience

* Trade-qualified Plumber
* NT Flammable Gas Certificate (or ability to obtain)
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a service-related industry
* Valid Drivers licence
* Experience in facility maintenance, new installations, and domestic appliance work
