Counsellor - Women's Family and Domestic Violence
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Patricia Giles Centre for Non-Violence (PGCNV) is seeking a passionate and experienced Women's Counsellor to join our values-driven team in Merriwa.
In this full-time permanent role, you’ll deliver evidence-based counselling and therapeutic services to women impacted by family and domestic violence. Working within a supportive interdisciplinary team, you’ll help clients achieve meaningful outcomes and rebuild their lives.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Deliver trauma-informed counselling and psychoeducation to women impacted by FDV.
- Conduct FDV assessments and develop collaborative safety plans.
- Plan and facilitate individual and group therapy sessions.
- Coordinate referrals and advocate for client needs.Collaborate with agencies for integrated service delivery.
- Maintain accurate client records and service data.
- Foster a respectful, safe, and inclusive team and client environment.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- A Degree in Psychology, Counselling, or related field.
- Registration (or eligibility) with AHPRA, ACA, or PACFA.
- Warm, empathetic, and client-focused approach.
- Strong communication skills – written and verbal.
- Collaborative team player with integrity and professionalism.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, multi‑tasking workplace.
- Able to work independently and across multiple programs.
- Resourceful, proactive, and solution oriented.
- Positive attitude with a good sense of humour.
Please note: Candidates are required to have unrestricted rights to work in Australia, hold Current National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check, First Aid and CPR certification, and a valid WA driver’s licence.
