Job Title: Equine Farm & Facilities Assistant (Entry Level)
Casual – Part‑time hours rostered across 7 days, including weekends. Progression opportunities after 12 months.
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated, reliable, and hands‑on Equine Farm & Facilities Assistant to support the daily operations of our equine rehabilitation facility. This is an entry‑level, casual position with part‑time hours rostered across a 7‑day week, including regular weekend shifts.
The position requires a robust commitment to attending work shifts.
The role involves a mix of equine care, farm maintenance, and general animal husbandry. For the right candidate, and after 12 months of consistent contribution, opportunities for further development within the facility may be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily care and observation of horses undergoing rehabilitation
- Feed horses, water horses and maintain clean yard and yard areas
- Rug and unrug horses as per weather and care protocols
- Safely handle and lead horses to and from treatment areas
- Perform basic property maintenance including mowing, raking, weed control and fence checks
- Maintain cleanliness of treatment spaces and equipment
- Assist with general farm duties as required
- Occasionally feed other animals (e.g. dogs, chickens) during owner absence

- Confident handling horses and other animals
- Willingness to learn and follow safety protocols and animal handling procedures
- Calm, confident, and respectful approach to working with horses and animals
- Physically fit and capable of outdoor work in all conditions
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a small team
- Weekend availability is essential
Employment Conditions
- Initial engagement is on a casual basis with part‑time hours scheduled across a rotating 7‑day roster
- Includes regular weekend shifts
- Opportunities for advancement (including more responsibility or permanent part‑time employment) may be available after 12 months of consistent performance and commitment
