Job Description

As a trusted advisor reporting to the Finance Manager – Victoria and South Australia, you will play an important role in supporting financial initiatives and contributing to business performance across these regions.
Responsibilities
- Driving optimal financial performance by partnering with the business and providing trusted financial advice to key stakeholders to align business direction, financial strategies and utilize a variety of data sources to support sound decision‑making.
- Analysis and review of actual versus budget expense accounts on the Profit & Loss statement.
- Provide support and assistance to Project Managers, Project Directors and other key stakeholders, including pricing and commercial analysis support for project proposals and major projects.
- Ensure projects in the PM system are set up in accordance with the terms agreed with clients and accurately reflect the work‑breakdown structure, commercial terms and billing requirements.
- Monthly analytical reviews of projects (budgets, revenue, WIP, accounts receivable, project variances) and engage with Project Managers, Directors and stakeholders for discussion to ensure optimal performance, including accurate revenue recognition and timely billing and client invoicing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, pursuing or completed CPA/CA qualification or equivalent.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in financial accounting.
- Demonstrated experience in professional services, construction or a project environment.
- Strong exposure to developing, analysing and reporting budgets and forecasts.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, drive innovation and implement business solutions, with a track record of embracing change.
- Pro ability to influence, manage and prioritise across diverse stakeholders.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills appropriate for effective leadership engagement.
- Advanced skills in Excel and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience working with BST10, Power BI, TM1 desirable.
The successful applicant can work in either our Melbourne or Adelaide office.
GHD offices will be closed from Thursday 25 December 2025 until Friday 9 January 2026 inclusive, with our offices reopening on Monday 12 January 2026.
