Overview
Tweed Valley Hospital is seeking a Specialist in Obstetrics & Gynaecology to provide contemporary comprehensive Specialist Obstetrics and Gynaecology services at the primary facility and other facilities where applicable for optimal patient outcomes delivering a healthy community through quality care. The successful applicant will also participate in quality improvement activities as well as providing training and education to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.

Tweed Valley Hospital is a major referral and teaching hospital located in the heart of the Tweed-Byron region, providing a wide range of inpatient, day-only and outpatient services in a brand new, state-of-the-art facility. The Tweed Valley region offers diverse lifestyle options.
Position Type and Remuneration
Employment Type: Temporary Part Time – Approx 6 months – Start Date TBC pending appointment
Position Classification: Staff Specialist
Remuneration: $278,355 to $376,068 per annum full time equivalent depending on experience
Hours Per Week: 20
Responsibilities
* This vacancy is for temporary department leave relief for an initial period of up to 26 weeks for 20hrs per week. The hours and period of employment may change according to the leave requirements. There is also the possibility of an extension at same / reduced hours. Start Date is to be confirmed pending appointment.
* Provide contemporary specialist obstetrics and gynaecology services and participate in quality improvement activities.
* Provide training and education to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.
Qualifications
* Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, and/or specialist international medical graduate pathways
* Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the role delineation of the service
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team
* Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills
* Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement
* Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time
