About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team on a casual basis, offering flexibility to suit your lifestyle.
The successful candidate will become part of a close-knit team of experienced nurses who are committed to delivering high-quality, best practice care in Radiation Oncology.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Providing excellent patient care, ensuring patients' physical and psychological needs are met.
* Undertaking direct patient care including education, wound management and medication administration as per Practice Protocol.
* Effectively managing patients seen each day.
* Facilitating effective lines of communication with doctors, patient services, physicists and radiation therapists and providing feedback and up-to-date information regarding patients.
* Ensuring all patient interaction is documented, communicated and actioned.
* Monitoring and maintaining procedures, protocols, practices and clinical guidelines in line with best practice radiation oncology nursing standards.
* Ensuring medication management protocols are followed.
* Using ISBAR communication tool for handover of patients and communication with allied health services along with documentation.
Requirements
To be successful in this role you will need:
* A current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
* A minimum 2 years post-graduate experience (preferred).
* A background in oncology nursing, but not essential.
* Exemplary interpersonal communication skills with the ability to demonstrate empathy for all patients and their carers.
* Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Commitment to the application of best practice principles and quality improvement including the NSQHS.
* Commitment to continuing professional development.
* Experience in wound care management.
