Role Overview
Associate Director/Senior Transactions Manager in our OPEA Investment and Valuation Team based in Melbourne. You will assist our acquisition, partnering, divestment strategy and debt financing strategy for onshore wind, onshore solar, and battery storage development projects. Key responsibilities include leading or supporting transactions from initial development through to financial close, coordinating with advisers, investors, financiers, and internal departments.
Responsibilities
* Execute selected project or portfolio divestments for RWE Renewables' assets based on a defined asset strategy.
* Support and execute project financings for RWE Renewables' development assets.
* Identify potential partnership or acquisition opportunities.
* Design and structure long‐term asset partnerships with potential or existing partners/investors.
* Lead and support diverse transaction project teams effectively.
* Build, develop, and maintain financial valuation models to assess project economics.
* Conduct ongoing financial and qualitative analysis of transactions and opportunities.
* Collaborate closely with RWE Renewables development and support functions regarding transaction execution and local implications.
* Provide commercial guidance to business units for investment, divestment, bid, and partnering decisions.
* Hold accountability for budget and transaction timeline targets.
* Support financial and transaction due diligence processes.
Your profile
* Business or analytical/quantitative degree, with at least 7 years' experience in M&A or banking and finance.
* MBA, CFA, or similar postgraduate degree considered a plus.
* Experience with renewable energy transactions in Australia.
* Solid understanding of energy markets, generation technologies, and investor/financing markets.
* Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills and commercial mindset.
* Proficient in project valuation and project finance structuring.
* Excellent strategic and analytical thinking, execution, and delivery skills.
* Creative and open‐minded approach to transaction scenarios.
* Strong communication and presentation skills, with a focus on accuracy and meeting deadlines.
* Ability to manage relationships with senior stakeholders, internally and externally.
* Adaptability and motivation to work in an international, dynamic environment.
* Strong interpersonal skills, valuing diversity and inclusion.
* Fluency in spoken and written English.
* A positive attitude, enthusiasm for renewable energy, and the ability to work well in a multicultural team.
