2027 Bright Spark Apprentice Program | Newcastle & Central Coast Area
We're the largest electricity distributor on the east coast of Australia, delivering power to over two million homes and businesses. As part of the energy transition, we're looking for fresh talent to join our Bright Spark Apprentice Program.
Program details: 4‐year apprenticeship starting January 2027, with real‐world experience in overhead works, underground works and substations.
Apprenticeship options
* Lineworker – build and maintain overhead electrical lines working at heights.
* Cable Jointer – install and connect underground electrical power cables.
* Technician – install and maintain substations, including transformers and switch‐gear.

Candidate requirements
* Residency – Australian citizen or permanent resident.
* Education – finished Year 10 by end of 2026.
* Experience – no prior experience needed. Must have good maths skills and genuine interest in energy.
* Licence – driver's licence by January 2027.
