McArthur is currently seeking an experienced Support Officer to join a busy local government team within the Community Law Enforcement and Waste area.

This is a varied administrative support role suited to someone who is organised, professional, customer-focused and comfortable working across multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. You will provide support across customer enquiries, correspondence, records management, meeting coordination, procurement, accounts payable and general section administration.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for providing efficient and timely administrative support to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the team. Duties will include:

* Providing high-level administrative support to the Community Law Enforcement and Waste section
* Responding to internal and external enquiries in a professional and timely manner
* Coordinating meeting schedules, preparing documentation and taking minutes when required
* Maintaining accurate records in line with Council procedures
* Processing invoices, raising purchase orders and assisting with basic financial administration
* Updating and maintaining databases, including systems such as TechOne
* Managing correspondence, documentation and customer requests
* Assisting with monitoring and reporting on team KPIs and financial performance
* Following up outstanding actions and escalating operational issues where required
* Maintaining confidentiality, accuracy and professionalism at all times

About You

The successful candidate will be a capable administrator who can work independently, manage competing priorities and communicate confidently with a wide range of stakeholders.

You will ideally bring:

* Previous administration experience, ideally within local government, waste services, compliance, regulatory services or a busy customer service environment
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent organisation, time management and attention to detail
* Demonstrated customer service skills
* Advanced Microsoft Office skills
* Experience with records management and corporate databases
* Ability to manage confidential information professionally
* Confidence working in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
* Minute-taking experience, highly regarded
* Accounts payable, procurement or purchase order experience, highly regarded
* Experience using systems such as TechOne, TRIM or SCOUT, highly regarded
