The Opportunity Our client is embarking on a multi-year journey toward a new "Model of Care." With a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility opening in 2028, the focus now shifts from high-level strategy to operational excellence and culture change. We are looking for a Wildlife Transformation Manager to lead the Wildlife Hospital through this transition. This isn't about writing the strategy, it's about implementing it, guiding a dedicated team of ~33 clinical and operational staff, and building the processes that will define the future of wildlife care in Queensland. Why this role mattersThe Wildlife Hospital is a high-volume, 24-hour environment. Currently, there is a substantial logistical and emotional load. Your job is to introduce the protocols, policies, and intake management systems that will allow the hospital to operate sustainably and efficiently without losing its mission-led DNA. What you'll do
* Lead the Implementation:Take the existing strategy for Vet Education and Care Networks and turn it into day-to-day reality.
* Culture & Connection:Transform the culture into one that is process-driven and protocol-focused, with a heavy emphasis on interpersonal communication.
* Operational Oversight:Support the Practice Manager in daily triage and intake management, ensuring the team is guided and supported.
* System Integration:Work with IT to help the clinical team adopt and integrate better systems for day-to-day work.
* Future-Proofing:Manage the recruitment and retention strategy as the team prepares for the 2028 move.
What you'll bring
* Complex Ops Experience:You've managed operations in a large, high-pressure environment (Hospitals, Emergency Services, or high-volume Clinical settings are highly regarded).
* Change Management Grit:You know how to bring people along on a journey, especially when moving from "informal" to "process-driven" ways of working.
* Interpersonal Leadership:You are an expert at managing "the messy middle" of human connections and team dynamics.
* Tech Savvy:You can bridge the gap between basic current systems and the more integrated IT future.
What's on offer
* Better Balance:A 7am – 3pm, Monday to Friday schedule (with flexibility).
* Financials:$140,000 base + 12% super (increasing to 12.5% in July 2024).
* Legacy:The chance to lead a high-profile transformation for one of Australia's most loved organisations.
* Ease of Access:On-site parking and close proximity to the train station.
