About Us
Community Correctional Services (CCS) contributes to the safety of the community by applying practices that reduce reoffending and connecting offenders to programs, services and community. CCS provides management of offenders on court orders, serious sex offenders on post sentence supervision and prisoners on parole.
About The Role
This role is required to utilise evidence-based case management practices to actively engage offenders and ensure responsive, targeted interventions to assist in reducing their risk of reoffending. Case Managers / Court Assessment and Prosecutions Officers must support offenders to successfully complete their court orders, while balancing risks to community safety.
Key Responsibilities Include
* Provide advice and recommendations to the court for individual interventions to maximise the responsiveness of the offender
* Provide timely, well organised and evidence-based advice to stakeholders (including the judiciary involved in the sentencing process) regarding an assessment of an offender's risk to community safety and their capacity to undertake a court order
* Undertake an effective assessment of an offender's risk to community safety (and their capacity to undertake a court order) through the evaluation of factors that relate to an individual's offending behaviour. Provide advice and recommendations to the court for individual interventions to address this behaviour. Interventions are to maximise the responsiveness of the offender
About You
* Demonstrated understanding and/or practice of effective case management practices; proactively managing risk with more complex individuals
* Experience and/or knowledge of court processes, prosecutions or related areas
* Demonstrated understanding and/or practice of modelling pro social behaviours and ability to motivate and influence individuals who are being case managed
