We are seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers for permanent and fixed‑term, full‑time and part‑time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Note: This position is being advertised as part of a recruitment pilot designed to simplify the application process for teachers. A mandatory CV template is provided for use. Application requirements include character‑limited responses to address only 2 Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) domains at application stage. The remaining AITSL domain will be assessed as part of the further assessment stage for shortlisted applicants only.
East Kalgoorlie Primary School (EKPS) is situated on the eastern fringe of Kalgoorlie‑Boulder in Williamstown. Our students reside all over the city; 94% of whom are Aboriginal. With one of the lowest Index of Community Socio‑Educational Advantage (ICSEA) in the state at 648, the school is a priority for engagement with community and stakeholders to develop strong structures and supports so every child can achieve regardless of location or personal circumstance. The Role
EKPS is seeking exceptional Primary Teachers to teach students from Pre‑Primary to Year 6 in a diverse educational setting. Applicants should be able to meet the needs of students within a dynamic and inclusive environment. Suitable applicants are expected to provide an integrated and culturally responsive program that supports the learning and development of our predominantly Aboriginal student population.
Applicants should ideally have an understanding of explicit instruction and a knowledge of The Writing Revolution, Let’s Decode, and Spelling Mastery. They must be versatile, energetic, and able to work collaboratively within their phase. Outstanding interpersonal skills, effective communication, and the ability to build genuine relationships with parents, students, and colleagues are essential. A high‑expectation classroom environment, growth mindset, and support for students’ social and emotional skills are highly regarded.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south‑west teachers
Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school, may elect to undertake this role as a 3‑year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3‑year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role or transfer permanently into EKPS.
