The company is looking to appoint a Principal Zoologist to help grow the business moving forward. The role will work collaboratively with the Directors and other Principals.
The key purpose of this role is to provide technical Fauna services to established and new clients in Western Australia including Mining, Government, Infrastructure and Energy.
This is an all‐round role which includes variety of tasks such as writing proposals and doing business development, technical report writing and reviewing, project management, field work and leading survey teams in remote areas, helping to mentor junior zoologists, servicing key clients and working collaboratively with other teams in the company.
Ideal Candidate
* A Tertiary degree in Zoology, conservation biology, Environmental Science or similar
* Around 8–15+ years' experience including previous environmental consultancy experience
* Previous relevant technical experience in Zoology (vertebrate or invertebrate)
* Understanding of relevant WA and Commonwealth legislation and guidelines
* Understanding of fauna licencing requirements
* Strong technical report writing / reviewing and project management skills
* The desire and ability to help mentor and support junior team members
* The desire and ability to undertake field work
* Good emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills including a positive attitude and the ability to fit in well with a team of friendly professionals.
