As a Senior Project Engineer at Yarra Ranges Council, you will use significant civil engineering experience to lead the delivery of infrastructure projects including roads, footpaths, drainage and carparks within the Infrastructure Delivery team. You will manage projects end to end, from scoping, budgeting and design management through to contract administration, construction oversight and handover, while providing expert technical advice across Council. You will also lead, supervise and mentor Project Engineers and Construction Supervisors, ensuring safe, compliant and high-quality project outcomes in line with professional engineering standards.
This is a full-time permanent position (38 hours per week).
This is a Band 7 role with a salary range between $110,534 and $119,249 per annum, plus superannuation.

Experience and skills we’re looking for
Registration as a Professional Engineer in the area of civil engineering in accordance with the Professional Engineers Registration Act 2019.
Manages time, resources and workloads effectively to meet high performance standards and deliver projects on scope, budget and program.
Quickly learns and applies new technical, contractual and regulatory information to support safe, compliant and efficient project outcomes.
Builds a strong, collaborative team culture by working closely with engineers, supervisors, consultants and contractors to achieve shared project goals.
Coaches and mentors junior engineers and team members through clear guidance, feedback and professional supervision to build capability and confidence.
Makes evidence based decisions by analysing technical data, costs, risks and stakeholder input to deliver practical and defensible solutions.
Great organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate confidently with diverse customers.
Adapts effectively to changing project priorities, requirements and environments to ensure consistent delivery of civil infrastructure projects.
