We are seeking to establish a pool of Secondary Teachers for all Learning Areas for permanent and fixed term, full‐time and part‐time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
The Role
As a member of our team, you will be a conscientious, flexible and innovative teacher who is committed to the development of the whole student. You will be actively involved both within the school and wider community, highly reflective of your teaching practices and committed to evidence‐based decision making and differentiation.
Suitable applicants will be motivated, able to teach a range of secondary subjects, and knowledgeable of the Western Australian Curriculum. You will deliver a differentiated curriculum that meets the needs of all students and have an expectation that all students can reach their potential. Commitment to high quality teaching and learning is essential.
You will possess strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills used to develop and promote the school's values, ethos and priorities across the school community. Building positive relationships with students and being passionate about creating positive futures for students are key.

Teachers and school administrators employed at Newman Senior High School in 2026 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $7,000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to receive the second payment.
Mobility Appointments for Permanent Metropolitan and South West Teachers
* Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school, may elect to undertake a 3‐year mobility appointment with a right of return to their substantive position.
* At the cessation of the 3‐year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
* Note that south west teachers are not eligible to move to another south west school under this trial.
Eligibility
* Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
* Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
* Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start.
* Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
