Senior Data Analyst Job Description
This position involves working with stakeholders to gather data and reporting requirements, building and maintaining datasets using SQL and Python within Databricks, developing dashboards and reports using Power BI, automating workflows using pySpark in Databricks, and supporting the development and improvement of data pipelines and processes.
* Partner with business units to identify data needs and develop solutions.
* Browse large datasets and extract key information using advanced SQL skills.
* Utilize Python/pySpark for data manipulation, analysis, and automation.
* Collaborate with other data specialists to optimize data pipelines and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Analysis and Reporting: Extract insights from large datasets, build clean and reliable datasets using SQL and Python, and develop dashboards and reports using Power BI.
2. Workflow Automation: Utilize pySpark in Databricks to automate data preparation, analysis, and reporting workflows.
3. Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with business units to gather data and reporting requirements, and support the development and improvement of data pipelines and processes.
4. Technical Skills: Proficient in SQL, Python/pySpark, Power BI, and Azure.
Required Skills:
* Advanced SQL skills for querying and transforming large datasets.
* Proficiency in Python/pySpark, particularly in the context of Databricks, for data manipulation, analysis, and automation.
* Strong experience building dashboards and data models in Power BI or similar BI tools.
* Comfortable working with cloud-based data platforms, ideally within Azure.
