Remuneration
$278,355 to $376,068 per annum full time equivalent, depending on experience. Remuneration as a Senior Specialist will be considered and is subject to CE approval.
About the Role
Director of Medical Services (DMS) – a staff specialist position in the clinical leadership team of Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD), Lismore Base Hospital.
The DMS will ensure safe, effective and efficient delivery of Medical Services across the NNSWLHD network, promote innovation, implement best practices in medical administration, and collaborate with multidisciplinary partners to transform healthcare delivery.
Responsibilities
* Drive innovation and implement best practices in medical administration across the district.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary partners to foster success and transform healthcare delivery.
* Guide and support medical administration departments within a large health organization.
Qualifications
* Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Medical Administrator, overseas‑trained specialist pathways, or working towards such eligibility.
* Demonstrated leadership experience and achievement as a senior manager in a health service, including strategic planning, medical workforce planning and management, and change management.
* Demonstrated capability to effectively manage medical administration departments within a similar health care organisation.
* Demonstrated commitment to the principles and practices of clinical governance and clinical risk management, and ability to implement continuous quality improvement management strategies.
* Sound understanding of contemporary health service issues and proven ability to prioritise and effectively manage resources to address these issues.
* Demonstrated effective communication, negotiation, consultative and interpersonal skills, and ability to liaise and consult with all levels of the health industry, the community and various professional groups.
* Valid unrestricted driver’s licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment.
* Ability to participate in Executive on‑call roster.
