Job Title: Mechanical Engineering Lead

Responsibilities:
This role combines technical leadership with people management, including mentoring and developing junior engineers, overseeing mechanical engineering outputs, and providing expert guidance across the broader engineering team.
* Lead a team of mechanical engineers across the full engineering lifecycle.
* Manage the day-to-day operations of a team of mechanical engineers.
* Act as the mechanical subject matter expert, offering guidance across the broader engineering team.
* Review and approve design and analysis of mechanical structures and systems.
* Ensure mechanical designs are assessed for Design for Manufacture, Reliability, and Failure Modes Effects and Analysis.
* Contribute to the development of new technologies and processes.
* Collaborate with engineers and designers to ensure mechanical integrity and performance.
* Provide guidance on computer simulations and analysis tools.
* Interact with suppliers and customers for all mechanical elements.
* Manage Mechanical Design resource planning and project allocation.
Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
* Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
* Demonstrated prior experience in mechanical systems design and simulation.
* Proven track record in leading engineering teams.
* Experience in configuration management and PLM systems.
* Strong expertise in mechanical design and analysis.
* Design for production experience.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
* Attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and engineering software tools.
