BACKGROUND
At HILT CRC we are passionate about decarbonisation and following a career path that will make a difference.
The Heavy Industry Low‐carbon Transition Cooperative Research Centre (HILT CRC) was established in 2021 and is a 10‐year consortium of industry, research organisations and government agencies. Our mission is to de‐risk and accelerate the technology pathways needed by Australia's hard‐to‐abate heavy industry to decarbonise.
With its more than 70 partners, HILT CRC has more than 20 cutting‐edge active research projects, designed to address low‐carbon challenges facing the iron ore, steel, alumina and cement sectors.
HILT CRC's research portfolio is organised across three programs, each headed by a Research Leader and an industry‐based co‐lead. This collaborative structure ensures our research teams are strongly aligned with industry needs and focused on practical, commercially relevant decarbonisation challenges.
PRIMARY ROLE
The Green Metals Industry Engagement Manager – Iron and Steel will play a pivotal role in coordinating HILT CRC activities with industry and other stakeholders across the iron and steel sector. The successful candidate will strive to ensure that engagement activities, research and new strategic initiatives are coordinated to align with industry needs and HILT strategic priorities.
The role will work across industry, research and government to identify common technical challenges and identify areas where HILT's portfolio of collaborative research can support stakeholder objectives. The candidate will play a key part in knowledge dissemination, helping to synthesise and communicate research results in a format that is easily digested by industry partners. The position will work closely with HILT CRC Program Leads, project teams and industry representatives to ensure HILT activities deliver maximum value to our partners.
The ideal candidate will possess in‐depth technical expertise in iron ore products, iron and steel production, understanding of decarbonisation approaches, familiarity with R&D, excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and project management experience.
