Job Summary
Assigned to the field construction organisation in a supervisory role. Responsible for supervising and directing all operations within the disciplines Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls on an EPC (direct‐hire) Project. Supervises and directs Contractor activities, subordinate superintendents and other personnel, ensuring construction operations and subcontractor performance comply with specifications, schedules, budgets and legislation. Primary contact for jobsite electrical operations and activities, coordinating with client or contractor resident representatives.
This role is offered on a FIFO basis to North Queensland, operating on a 2:1 roster.
Major Responsibilities
* Provide technical and administrative direction to subordinate superintendents, field staff and other personnel.
* Register as the Qualified Technical Person (QTP) for Bechtel's Electrical Contractors licence in Queensland.
* Responsible for field construction operations within assigned discipline and area.
* Determine workforce requirements.
* Coordinate operational plans.
* Monitor work activities and ensure quality of work.
* Ensure use of current design documentation and approve design changes before implementation.
* Approve direct report time records and prepare reports/forecasts, including construction progress and expenditure forecasts.
* Monitor subcontractor activities for compliance and quality.
* Perform employee reviews and identify training and development opportunities.
* Ensure compliance with Bechtel and local safety codes, requirements and standards.
Education and Experience Requirements
* Bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) with 13–15 years of relevant experience or 17–19 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills
* Experience in development of execution and construction scopes of work and strategies.
* Sound knowledge of QLD mining Act and regulations.
* Experience with communication, controls and hazardous areas is an advantage.
* Experience with contract formation and administration.
* Experience in EPC direct hire team management.Extensive background in mining construction projects, leadership, client relationship management and talent development.
* Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H).
* Understanding of performance management processes such as Six Sigma.
* Advanced understanding of production management including scheduling.
* Advanced knowledge of cost management including estimating and forecast development.
