Responsibilities
As a Detention Youth Worker, you will be responsible for ensuring young people are kept safe and well while in detention. Your role includes:
* Encouraging young people to make good decisions by promoting and reinforcing positive behavior to help them reintegrate into the community.
* Helping young people understand and follow the rules of the centre.
* Delivering activities that are sensitive to gender, cultural beliefs, and health needs.
* Providing support as a trusted person young people can talk to.
* Checking on young people regularly day and night to ensure their well-being.
* Engaging young people in constructive activities.
