Opportunity
We are seeking two experienced Maintenance Fitters to join our Black Swan manufacturing site in Clayton South. Reporting to the Reliability & Maintenance Manager, this hands‐on role is responsible for executing preventive and corrective maintenance activities across the site to ensure equipment reliability, minimise downtime, and support safe, efficient production operations in a fast‐paced FMCG environment. We are recruiting for both morning and afternoon shift positions.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on production and utilities equipment.
* Diagnose mechanical faults and perform timely repairs to minimise production downtime.
* Respond to breakdowns with a strong focus on root cause analysis and long‐term solutions.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
* Maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS systems (e.g. MEX, Fiix), including work orders and parts usage.
* Assist with the management of critical spare parts and consumables.
* Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with site procedures, food safety and quality standards.
Skills and Experience
* Trade qualification in Engineering (Mechanical) – Certificate III minimum (Certificate IV desirable).
* Minimum 3 years of experience in a maintenance role within manufacturing or FMCG environments.
* Strong mechanical fault‐finding and problem‐solving skills.
* Experience using CMMS systems (MEX, Fiix or similar).
* Exposure to food manufacturing environments (desirable).
* A high level of attention to detail, quality workmanship and effective communication skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively and manage competing priorities.
