Commercial Project Manager and Estimator
Gold Coast | Well Paid | Commercial AC & Mech Projects | No Chaos | No Egos
Are you an experienced commercial AC tradesmen who has moved into project management, estimating, or quoting — but still understands what actually happens onsite?
This is not a role for someone who has only ever sat behind a desk and priced jobs.
This is a merged role for someone who can estimate commercial air conditioning and refrigeration projects, manage them properly, communicate clearly with clients and site teams, and take ownership from tender through to completion.
The Opportunity
Frost Solutions Pty Ltd is one of the Gold Coast's fastest growing Air Conditioning & Refrigeration companies.
This year we have multiple new commercial projects, architectural homes, and larger‐scale HVAC installations underway. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Commercial Project Manager & Estimator to join the team.
This is a senior role within the business and will suit someone who has come from the tools, understands commercial HVAC onsite, and is ready to take full ownership of projects, pricing, coordination, and delivery.
You must have completed your Certificate III in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration.
If you have only worked as an estimator and do not have strong onsite experience, this role will not be the right fit.
What you'll get here:
A senior role in a growing AC company doing both domestic & commercial work
A mix of office‐based work, site visits, client communication, and team coordination
Strong systems that make your job easier
Local Gold Coast work
A professional team with no chaos and no egos
Good internal support from management, technicians, installers, and admin
Opportunity to help shape the commercial division as the company grows
Stable pipeline of commercial projects and high‐end residential work
Competitive salary package based on experience
A company that is building for the long term
Genuine opportunity for career growth and leadership
The Role
We are looking for a Commercial Project Manager & Estimator who can manage the full process from pricing through to handover.
This role is a blend of estimating, project management, site coordination, client communication, procurement, and internal leadership.
You will be responsible for helping the business price work accurately, win the right projects, and then deliver those projects properly.
You will work closely with directors, supervisors, technicians, installers, apprentices, builders, consultants, suppliers, and clients.
This is an office‐based role, but you will still be required to attend sites, review project conditions, understand buildability, communicate with site teams, and solve problems before they become expensive.
What you'll be doing:
Estimating commercial HVAC projects & new build residential homes
Reading plans, specifications, scopes, and tender documents
Preparing take‐offs, equipment selections, and project costings
Quoting commercial air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical works
Liaising with builders, clients, consultants, and suppliers
Managing projects from approval through to completion
Coordinating labour, materials, equipment, access, and timelines
Supporting site teams with clear information and project documentation
Attending site meetings and project inspections
Identifying variations and managing them properly
Ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to Frost Solutions' standard
Working with technicians and installers to solve onsite issues
Building strong relationships with repeat clients and commercial builders
Improving internal systems, processes, and project delivery
What you need:
Strong onsite HVAC/R experience
Commercial air conditioning project experience
Ability to read plans, specifications, and construction documents
Strong understanding of labour, materials, equipment, and installation requirements
Ability to communicate clearly with clients, builders, suppliers, and site teams
Strong organisational skills
Ability to take ownership of outcomes
Ability to work in a fast‐moving environment without creating chaos
Valid driver's licence
ARC licence highly regarded

You have only ever worked as an estimator with no real onsite experience
You do not understand how commercial HVAC projects are installed
You need constant supervision to stay organised
You avoid difficult conversations with clients, builders, or site teams
You are not comfortable taking responsibility for project outcomes
You are looking for a low‐accountability role
You do not care about quality, deadlines, or communication
This role is for you if:
You have been on the tools, you understand commercial HVAC, and you know what good work looks like.
You can look at a set of plans and understand not just what needs to be priced, but what it will actually take to build.
You can communicate with a builder, support a site team, manage a supplier, identify a variation, and keep the project moving.
You want to work in a company that is growing, improving, and building proper systems.
You are looking for a long‐term opportunity where you can grow professionally over the next 5 years, not just take another job.
