Scope
The Financial Restructuring Group is expanding and we are looking for an Associate to be based in our Sydney office. Associates work specifically with the group, assisting with a variety of transactions, including creditor‐ and debtor‐side restructurings and distressed mergers & acquisitions.
In particular, we are looking for an Associate to work closely with senior‐level bankers to expand our capital solutions and market advisory offering in Australia supported by our global platform. You will be building key relationships across the capital markets and providing strategic financial advice on innovative, tailored and value‐enhancing capital solutions that support the long‐term success of a diverse range of corporate clients.
Responsibilities
* Advising on debt and equity raisings in the context of complex, stressed and distressed situations
* Advising companies and stakeholders in stressed and distressed situations, including informal and formal restructuring transactions
* Advising on distressed M&A transactions
* Participating in complex negotiations on behalf of our clients
Requirements / Qualifications
* Strong academic track record
* Genuine interest in Capital Markets, Financial Restructuring and/or in working on complex and large financial transactions
* 4+ years' experience within Financial Restructuring, Leveraged Finance, Private Credit, Insolvency, or Banking & Finance Law
* Strong understanding of valuation theory, methodologies and applications
* Comprehension of key debt related components and structures
* Strong quantitative, financial and analytical skills, commensurate with experience
* Strong LBO and DCF modelling skills, commensurate with experience
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work independently in a fast‐paced environment
* Exceptional strong work ethic
