As a Training Product Developer, you'll play a key role in developing nationally accredited training products that support Australia's mining and automotive workforce. Working within AUSMASA's Training and Workforce Innovation team, you'll contribute to the development and maintenance of training products across the AUR, AUM and RII Training Packages.

Operating in a national, tripartite environment, you'll consult widely with industry, unions, government and training providers to identify workforce capability requirements and translate these into high‐quality, compliant training products in line with the Training Package Organising Framework (TPOF).

This role suits someone who enjoys technical writing, stakeholder consultation, and working across multiple projects to deliver training products that are practical, future‐focused, and trusted by industry.

This is a fixed term contract opportunity until June 2028.

What You'll Be Doing

1. Consult nationally with industry, RTOs, unions, employer bodies, and state and federal authorities to inform training product development
2. Undertake technical writing of new and revised qualifications, units of competency and skill sets in line with TPOF requirements
3. Apply TPOF principles to clearly define occupational outcomes, job functions and capability requirements
4. Collate, analyse and document evidence to support training product development and technical decisions
5. Support governance, quality assurance and compliance processes, including preparation of documentation for submission to the Training Package Assurance Body
6. Contribute to workforce functional analyses and intelligence gathering activities
7. Provide project and administrative support across concurrent training product development activities, including reporting and documentation
8. Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure products are delivered to scope, quality and timelines (Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.)

Who You Are

You're analytical, detail-focused, and comfortable working in complex stakeholder environments. You enjoy translating industry needs into structured, nationally consistent training standards and take pride in producing high‐quality technical documentation.

You'll bring

9. Experience developing nationally accredited training packages and/or accredited courses within the VET sector
10. At least two years' experience working in the VET sector, ideally within a TAFE or Registered Training Organisation
11. A strong understanding of how training packages are applied in workforce skills development
12. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent)
13. Experience consulting with diverse stakeholders, both face‐to‐face and virtually
14. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information clearly

Even Better If You Also Have

15. Knowledge of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as it applies to training product development
16. Experience in VET quality assurance or compliance
17. Exposure to the mining and/or automotive sectors
