About The Opportunity
We're on the lookout for a talented and experienced Project Accountant to join our team. The role will be based in our South East office in Dingley Village. This is an exciting role where you will partner with our project teams to provide financial support and guidance across a range of projects and programs including supporting the ABK Joint Venture (Abergeldie, BMD and KBR) who are delivering a 10 year program for South East Water.
Day to day you will
* Liaise with the relevant Project Managers and Construction Managers regarding the actual results and booking appropriate accruals including revising costs to complete.
* Assist with providing monthly reports on designated projects including understanding project status, costs to date, forecast costs to complete, and comparison to budget.
* Assist with reviewing project reports and conducting detailed analyses of results.
* Liaise with and support the Project Managers and Construction Managers in the development of the annual budget and monthly forecast processes.
* Assist with managing claims processes on projects to ensure timely billing and cash collection of all projects.
* Undertake monthly GL Reconciliations.
* Input standard journals for month end.
* Prepare financial information for projects reviews.
* Participate in month end project review meetings.
What you'll bring to the team
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting or related field.
* Demonstrated experience as a Project Accountant, within the construction industry.
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
* Experience with Microsoft PowerBI or SQL would be advantageous but not essential.
* Experience using IFS advantageous but not essential.
* Exceptional attention to detail.
* Strong relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to positively influence stakeholders.
