We're currently looking for a high-caliber professional to join our team as Officer, Securities & Derivatives Analyst - Hybrid (Internal Job Title: Securities & Derivatives Analyst 1 – C09) based in Australia. This role provides resources to meet your needs and opportunities to develop professionally.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for assisting CHESS Settlement of equity trades prior to 11:30 on a daily basis in a high-volume environment.
* Liaising with clients, middle office, trading desk and custodian to accommodate settlement and run reports for awareness of unmatched trades.
* Monitor and process FX trades and cash settlements for the treasury funding process.
* Own control functions and all post-execution exception processes.
* Monitor exception reports and reconcile daily/monthly dashboards to ensure issues are resolved promptly.
* Report, investigate and follow up on failed trades, including reporting metrics and commentary.
* Meet regulatory reporting requirements to ASX and ASIC for daily reports.
* Create manual payments with necessary documentation in accordance with internal audit requirements.
* Post journals representing manual payments with documentation.
* Liaise with domestic and regional clients, internal and external, to resolve failed or unmatched trades.
* Provide proactive client service and partner with the business and middle office to resolve issues.
* Establish and maintain relationships with offshore and local teams such as Corporate Actions, Middle Office, SBL, Finance and Treasury.
* Comply with Citi Code of Conduct and understand ASX and ASIC Market Integrity Rules in relation to settlement.
* Adhere to firm policies and regulatory requirements, including Manual Payments Policy and US Sanctions/Global Interdiction.
* Support the business unit to ensure compliance with firm policies and procedures.
Qualifications
* BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience.
* Understanding of general business and financial markets principles.
* Knowledge of treasury controls, including unconfirmed trades and outstanding settlement items.
* Strong knowledge of core banking products preferred.
* Ability to work in a team, learn from others, share knowledge and take on responsibility as required.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to identify problems early and offer practical solutions.
* Identify opportunities for process simplification and streamlining.
