We operate a dedicated in-house sheet-metal workshop equipped with modern machinery for cutting, folding, and assembling precision duct systems tailored to each project. In addition, we specialise in the installation of mechanical ventilation and air-conditioning systems for both commercial and residential developments, particularly within the construction sector, and provide ongoing maintenance and servicing for existing systems across a wide range of properties.
We are looking for an experienced Sheet Metal Worker to join our growing production team. This is a full-time ongoing position, hours worked are generally between 7am and 3:30pm, with overtime available.
About the Role:
As a Sheet Metal Worker, you will be involved in all aspects of sheet-metal fabrication, including the cutting, folding, assembling and installation of ductwork, fittings and other custom sheet-metal components used in air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation systems. You will work closely with our production and installation teams to ensure all sheet-metal work meets Superior Air's high-quality standards and precise project specifications.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Operate sheet metal fabrication machinery, including shears, press brakes, rollers, and guillotines, to cut, bend and shape metal into ductwork components according to specifications.
* Read and interpret technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication of ductwork components.
* Conduct regular maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
* Complete service and repair documentation in a clear, concise and timely manner.
* Mark out metal stock with reference points and lines, using templates, gauges and other measuring instruments.
* Fit and assemble components into final products by welding, riveting, soldering, brazing and otherwise joining.
* Keeping up to date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
Skills and Experience - Who we are looking for:
* Minimum Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication Trade including at least 2 years of on-the-job training, or three years of relevant and proven work experience as a Sheet Metal Worker or similar role in the sheet metal fabrication industry.
* Proficient in operating sheet metal fabrication equipment, such as shears, press brakes, rollers and guillotines.
* Familiarity with different types of ductwork systems and their applications.
* Attention to detail and precision in all aspects of work.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
