Barminco is seeking an experienced Health Safety Environment and Training Coordinator for the Bellevue Gold Project, located approximately 40 km north‐east of Leinster in Western Australia's Northern Goldfields region.
About the Role
This full‐time position (8/6 FIFO roster from Perth or variation) supports underground production within a high‐performing team focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Project Manager and working closely with the central HSET team, the coordinator will play a key role in delivering safe, productive and efficient underground mining operations.
Day‐to‐Day Responsibilities
* Provide expert advice on safety systems, leadership and performance in line with Barminco Group safety strategies.
* Analyse and assess safety systems and leadership, identify improvement initiatives and champion ongoing development of safety culture.
* Conduct safety audits and inspections, developing and implementing improvement plans using the ICAM programme and approach.
* Review and recommend safety system designs, strategies and improvement plans.
Ideal Candidate Background
* Relevant industry experience in a similar role; underground mining experience is highly regarded but not essential.
* Strong ability to work with and influence front‐line operational workforce.
* Confidence in collating, reporting and presenting safety performance data, with written and verbal communication skills.
* Deep understanding of risk‐based safety principles and systems in a mining context.
* Progressive safety leadership experience, moving beyond compliance to effective leadership and behaviours.
* Capability to review and recommend improvements to safety systems design and strategy.
* Experience leading safety audits and inspections, utilizing ICAM programme and approach.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation, particularly the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act and Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations.
* Proficiency in the MS Office suite, INX LMS Training software and SAI360 safety data analysis software.
