This experimentation leads to design concepts which then need to be systematically validated.
Building a team of exceptional test engineers who can operate effectively in both modes is critical to Pascal's success.
We are looking for a Test Technician to help develop our solid refrigerant technology by executing extensive thermal and materials testing programs.
This role will be critical to developing our testing suite and ensuring we learn what we want to know.
The position is temporary, starting immediately with a 6-month contract, with potential for renewal.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
What You'll Do
Collaborate with Pascal's materials scientists and engineers to design experimental equipment and develop test procedures
Execute exploratory experiments and debug rapidly-built prototypes
Execute structured experiments to determine compliance with design targets
Set up new sensors, controllers and the associated data acquisition equipment
Develop control scripts and other automations
Analyze test data and track testing status using advanced statistics and data processing techniques
Coordinate with the extended technical team to diagnose and troubleshoot abnormalities in systems performance and materials behaviors
Report and discuss recent results and long-term learnings with the team.
Maintain laboratory cleanliness, safety, and productivity for other lab users
QualificationsWhat You'll Bring
Skills and knowledge:
Proven track record of experimentation in a materials science/chemistry environment
Experience in product validation and certification test programs
Experience with various data acquisition and controls platforms including:Industrial PLCs (Beckhoff)
Laboratory oriented systems such as LabJack, Arduino, National Instruments etc.
Familiarity with precision gas handling equipment, heat exchangers, fluid state and flow measurements, and controls
Essential traits for succeeding at advanced hardware development startups:
Comfortable working on open-ended problems
Comfortable with rapidly-changing goals and priorities
Able to work with directional/aspirational goals rather than precise targets/specs
Hungry to learn and solve problems in a new technology field
Excited to work in a collaborative development environment
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this role is $40,000–$45,000 for a 6-month term, and may be higher if commensurate with experience.
