An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Level 2 Network Engineer to join a growing and collaborative IT team in Melbourne. This hybrid role offers exposure to a broad range of technologies across server infrastructure, networking, cloud services, and end‐user support environments.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, working across diverse technologies, and delivering high‐quality technical support while mentoring junior team members.
About the Role
You will be responsible for providing Level 2 support, maintenance, and administration across desktop, server, and network environments. The role combines proactive maintenance, customer support, troubleshooting, and infrastructure administration.
Key Responsibilities
* Server maintenance and troubleshooting
* Monthly scheduled maintenance activities
* VMware and Hyper‐V administration
* Server hardware support including HP hardware and iLO
* Desktop support and maintenance
* Monitoring backup success and resolving backup issues
* Ensuring updates and patching are completed successfully
* Maintaining desktop health and performance
* Disk space management and scheduled check disks
* 3CX appliance maintenance and support
* Helpdesk support across infrastructure and end‐user environments
* Resolving Remote Desktop and printing issues
* Installing and configuring customer software including Adobe and Nitro PDF
* Anti‐virus deployment and troubleshooting
* User onboarding and offboarding
* Programming intercoms and desk phones
* 3CX deployment and support
* Monitoring and responding to alerts in N‐central
* Maintaining accurate documentation in Halo PSA and timesheets
Skills & Experience Required Technical Skills
* Strong experience with Windows Desktop environments (Windows 10 & 11)
* Intermediate to advanced Windows Server administration
* Experience troubleshooting event logs and server issues
* Strong Microsoft 365 experience
* Intermediate PowerShell skills
* Solid networking fundamentals including:
o DNS
o TCP/IP
o DHCP
o IP conflict troubleshooting
o General network troubleshooting
* Exposure to Microsoft Intune
About You
* Previous experience in a similar Level 2 support or MSP role
* High attention to detail
* Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
* Team‐oriented with willingness to support Level 1 staff
* Strong customer service and communication skills
* Eagerness to learn and continue developing technical skills
Nice to Have
* MCSE or relevant Microsoft certifications
* Networking certifications
* Linux exposure
* AWS experience
* Programming or scripting experience
