About the role
The Logistics Officer is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of all logistics activities supporting Southern Launch's space operations. This includes the mobilisation of launch vehicles, fuels, and ground support equipment across multiple sites. The role requires deep expertise in managing high-risk and highly regulated freight across domestic and international jurisdictions, ensuring all materials and equipment are transported safely, compliantly, and on schedule to meet launch and operational objectives. Responsibilities include:
* Plan and manage the mobilisation and demobilisation of launch vehicles, fuels, and equipment to and from our operational sites.
* Coordinate domestic and international freight movements, including heavy-lift, oversize, and specialist transport.
* Oversee documentation, permits, and regulatory requirements for Dangerous Goods, imports, and exports.
* Liaise with contractors, freight providers, and government agencies to ensure operational and safety compliance.
* Maintain logistics records, risk registers, and equipment readiness for upcoming campaigns.
* Support day-to-day logistics operations including packing, dispatch, and asset coordination.
* Contribute to process improvements across logistics planning and on-site operations.
About you

* Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business (or equivalent experience).
* Experience coordinating logistics within aerospace, defence, resources, or other regulated industries.
* Strong understanding of Dangerous Goods, import/export, and customs requirements.
* Excellent planning, documentation, and communication skills.
* Able to work both strategically and practically to meet operational deadlines.
This position requires you to hold and maintain a valid Australian Defence Security Clearance.
