Workshop Diesel Fitter Mechanic
As our next workshop diesel fitter mechanic you will maintain and repair our fleet of trucks, tractors, vehicles, forklifts and various farming machinery. You will deliver high‐quality maintenance and repairs to keep our farms and packing facilities operating efficiently. This full‐time role (38 or 45 hours per week) may require occasional after‐hours call‐outs for urgent repairs of broken‐down machinery.
Responsibilities
* Service and repair fleet of light, medium and semi trucks including semi‐trailers, B‐doubles and prime movers.
* Maintain a wide range of farming machinery including tractors, sprayers, cultivators and seeders.
* Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults across a variety of diesel‐powered machinery.
* Source relevant parts, oils and lubricants for the maintenance and repair of machinery.
* Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work, parts used and service histories.
* Carry out roadworthy inspections and ensure all vehicles meet compliance and safety requirements.
* Follow the Maintenance Manager's instructions on the service schedule to keep machinery and vehicles operating efficiently and productively.
* Ensure Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) is always a priority.
Qualifications
* Diesel Fitter Trade Qualification or a relevant qualification.
* Post‐trade experience working as a diesel fitter or in a similar role.
* Current MR or higher truck licence preferred.
* Current forklift licence or willingness to obtain one.
* High attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Willingness to learn and improve.
* Drive to achieve.
