Flaming Sushi House, a popular Japanese dining destination located at 2/132 Brisbane Rd, Mooloolaba QLD 4557, is seeking an enthusiastic Full‐Time Chef to lead our culinary team. At Flaming Sushi House, we celebrate the art of Japanese dining and invite individuals who share a genuine passion for creating exquisite sushi and traditional Japanese dishes to join our journey. Flaming Sushi House offers a vibrant haven nestled in Mooloolaba. Our mission is to provide a dining experience that combines authentic Japanese flavours with sophistication, following our rich culinary traditions. We are committed to culinary innovation, featuring a menu that harmonizes beloved classics with unique modern twists, all within a lively and relaxed atmosphere perfect for an evening out or a casual lunch.

Responsibilities

* Culinary Expertise: Demonstrate strong skills in Japanese cuisine, assisting in the preparation and presentation of a variety of dishes, from sushi to traditional entrées, while supporting the Head Chef in maintaining the creativity and finesse that defines our menu.
* Quality Assurance: Ensure the highest standards of taste, presentation, and consistency are met in all dishes, supporting the Head Chef in delivering culinary excellence, and actively mentoring junior chefs, cooks, and kitchen hands to uphold these standards.
* Menu Contribution: Work collaboratively with the Head Chef and culinary team to refine and contribute to the development of the menu, offering input on both traditional Japanese favorites and innovative new dishes that excite and engage our guests.
* Kitchen Operations: Assist in managing a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen, ensuring compliance with food‐safety and hygiene regulations, while supporting the Head Chef in maintaining a healthy and safe environment for both staff and patrons. Play an active role in fostering a positive and collaborative kitchen atmosphere, guiding and mentoring junior chefs, cooks, and kitchen staff, and ensuring smooth daily operations.

Skills and Experience required

* At least one (1) year of proven full‐time experience in Japanese cuisine, with a deep appreciation for culinary tradition and innovation.
* Expertise in various cooking techniques specific to Japanese cuisine and familiarity with traditional Japanese ingredients.
* Commitment to maintaining high standards of taste, presentation, and consistency.
* Strong teamwork and communication skills for effective collaboration within the kitchen.
* Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic kitchen setting and changing menu demands.
* Available for full‐time work, including flexible hours as needed.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year

Work Location: In person
