Fremantle Hospital is a 300-bed specialist hospital focused on providing high-quality aged care, mental health, secondary rehabilitation, planned surgeries and medical services. SMHS delivers quality, safe and effective hospital and health services within a catchment area stretching more than 3,300 square kilometres across the southern half of Perth.
We are seeking compassionate, motivated, and experienced Senior Social Workers to join our dynamic Mental Health team. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals experiencing mental health challenges through high-quality clinical care, advocacy, and support.
Responsibilities:
* Plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate Social Work services to clients in the clinical specialty area of Mental Health, using advanced Social Work clinical practice skills from a recovery‐oriented and trauma‐informed perspective.
* Plan, implement and evaluate client safety and quality of care.
* Supervise Social Work staff, students and support staff in the unit/clinical area, coordinate duties and manage performance.
* Practice as a Senior Social Worker and ensure practice is in accordance with the Australian Association of Social Workers Practice Standards and Code of Ethics and SMHS policies and guidelines.
* Provide clinical and professional expertise to ensure comprehensive evidence‐based care is delivered to patients within the 24/7 Mental Health Crisis Centre (MHCC).
* Work shifts during day, evening and night.
Qualifications:
* Registered as a Social Worker in Australia.
* Experience in mental health clinical practice.
* Knowledge of trauma‐informed care and recovery‐oriented practice.
* Strong communication, organisational and supervisory skills.
