Job Summary
Dematic, a global leader in Mobile Automation (AGV's), offers a Permanent AGV Engineer role focused on delivering AGV solutions for leading global brands. The role provides career development opportunities and involves deploying, troubleshooting, commissioning, and maintaining AGV systems. The position is based in Notting Hill, VIC, with flexibility for WFH after initial training and requires travel to various Southern Region sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical support to customers by investigating, resolving, and escalating Mobile Automation system issues while keeping customers informed.
* Manage incidents and project tasks to meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards while following internal procedures.
* Communicate and build strong relationships with customers, including training operators and client personnel.
* Maintain accurate documentation, including technical records, reports, and administrative tasks.
* Commission AGVs on‐site.
* Assist senior engineers with costing, scheduling and ordering hardware/equipment.
* Perform system upgrades and configuration of computer hardware.
* Test and integrate AGV and PLC systems.
* Ensure compliance with safety standards (OHS&E), continuously improve skills, and support on‐call and team responsibilities.
Qualifications
* Engineering degree – Electrical or Mechatronics / Robotics / Industrial Automation.
* Recent graduate considered.
* Experience in electrical design and installation.
* Knowledge of configuration, programming and commissioning of AGV PLC's (desirable).
* Technical writing (desirable).
* Knowledge of PC and basic programming.
* Ability to be flexible and resourceful in the face of challenging situations.
* Strong communication skills.
* Strong analytical thinking and problem‐solving skills.
* Ability to work within a team environment.
