A well-established engineering consultancy in Sydney is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join its Pyrmont office and take a leading role in delivering a strong pipeline of local projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys technical depth, project ownership, and direct client engagement. You'll be part of a collaborative, technically strong team where your expertise will have real influence on project outcomes.
The role is predominantly office-based, focusing on technical leadership, design input, reporting, and overall project delivery oversight, with some site involvement as required.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll take ownership of geotechnical project delivery from initial investigation through to final reporting and engineering recommendations, including:
* Leading geotechnical investigations and coordinating field programs to ensure high-quality data acquisition
* Interpreting and reviewing subsurface investigation results to inform design and construction outcomes
* Preparing, reviewing, and signing off on geotechnical reports with clear, practical engineering conclusions
* Developing foundation and ground engineering solutions tailored to project requirements
* Managing multiple concurrent projects, including scheduling, deliverables, and stakeholder coordination
* Working directly with clients, contractors, and design consultants to provide technical guidance and resolve challenges
* Mentoring and supporting junior engineers, including technical review and capability development
About You
We're seeking a confident and technically strong geotechnical engineer ready to step into a leadership-oriented role:
* Degree qualified in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
* Proven consultancy experience in geotechnical engineering
* Strong technical capability across site investigation, analysis, interpretation, and reporting
* Demonstrated ability to manage projects and engage effectively with clients
* Comfortable providing technical review and mentoring junior engineers
