Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Facilities and Maintenance Officer to join the Infrastructure and Works Department of Forbes Shire Council. Reporting directly to the Supervisor Facilities, the role involves coordinating and undertaking responsive and planned maintenance activities on all Council buildings, assets and facilities (internal and external). This includes procurement management, contractor coordination, scheduling, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to high quality standards.
Responsibilities
* Plan, coordinate and oversee all maintenance activities for Council properties and assets.
* Manage procurement and contracting processes, including quoting, negotiation and contract administration.
* Monitor project timelines, deliverables and budgets to maintain quality and compliance.
* Collaborate with teams on high‐profile projects such as the Multi‐purpose Equestrian Centre, Indoor Heated Pool, JREC, and APEX.
* Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards across all maintenance operations.
Desired Skills and Experience
* Experience in facilities and maintenance management, preferably within a public sector environment.
* Strong understanding of procurement and contractor management processes.
* Excellent organizational, communication and problem‐solving skills.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
