The Opportunity
Engineering Manager leading design, delivery and growth of overhead transmission line projects within the Transmission & Distribution business, building team capability and strengthening market presence.
Responsibilities
* Lead the delivery of overhead transmission line projects across design, planning and execution phases.
* Provide technical and people leadership, mentoring engineers and supporting capability uplift.
* Foster a high‐performing, collaborative team culture focused on continuous learning and development.
* Ensure compliance with Australian and international standards for design, testing and commissioning.
* Apply expertise in PLS‐CADD, TOWER and/or POLE to achieve high‐quality engineering outcomes.
* Oversee the full asset lifecycle from planning through construction, operation and maintenance.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships, enhancing WSP's market presence and reputation.
* Lead bids, proposals and strategic growth initiatives to secure new work.
* Support project delivery in a Project Director / Project Manager capacity when required.
* Promote innovation, safety, sustainability and continuous improvement.
* Ensure compliance with all Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) requirements.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
* Relevant experience in the Transmission & Distribution industry with proven Australian market expertise.
* Demonstrated leadership experience across people, projects and mentoring/coaching.
* Strong background in overhead transmission line design and engineering.
* Experience with PLS‐CADD (TOWER/POLE) highly regarded.
* Proven ability in business development, proposals and winning work.
* Experience delivering projects as a Project Manager or Project Director.
* Commercially astute with a strong understanding of business drivers.
* Engineering registration (CPEng, CEng or equivalent) preferred or willingness to obtain.
* Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
* Collaborative, client‐focused approach with excellent communication skills.
* Resilient, adaptable and comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
* Ability to work on nationally significant energy infrastructure projects.
* Clear pipeline of Transmission & Distribution work.

How You'll Work
Based in one of our offices across Australia, preferably Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth or Canberra, working closely with local project teams and the national Transmission & Distribution team.
This role offers a mix of office, site and hybrid working giving exposure to local delivery and large‐scale national programmes.
