Denmac Industries is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team on a full-time basis in Wangara, WA. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our business by providing accurate project cost assessments and competitive quotations that drive our success in the construction industry. This position is fundamental to our ability to win projects and maintain profitability, requiring strong analytical skills and a comprehensive understanding of construction methodologies and costs.
What you'll be doing
* Prepare detailed cost estimates and quotations for construction projects of varying complexity and scale
* Analyse project specifications, drawings, and technical documentation to determine material, labour and equipment requirements
* Research and compare supplier quotes and pricing to ensure competitive and accurate estimates
* Liaise with project managers, clients and subcontractors to gather necessary project information and clarify requirements
* Maintain comprehensive databases and records of historical estimates and actual project costs for reference and analysis
* Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions without compromising quality or safety standards
* Monitor and update estimates as project scope changes or additional information becomes available
* Prepare tender documentation and supporting schedules for submission to clients
* Collaborate with the operations team to ensure estimates align with current company capabilities and resource availability
What we're looking for
* Proven experience working as an Estimator within the construction industry, ideally with 3+ years of hands-on experience
* Strong knowledge of construction costs, materials, labour rates and equipment hire charges relevant to the Australian market
* Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel for cost modelling and analysis
* Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate calculations and comprehensive documentation
* Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders
* Ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team
* Sound understanding of health and safety requirements within the construction industry
* Trade qualifications or previous site experience in construction an advantage
* Familiarity with local building codes and compliance requirements in Western Australia desirable
