Customer Sales Representative & Delivery Driver

About the Role
This is not your average delivery run. As our Delivery Driver & Customer Sales Representative, you will be the face of PYM Coatings in the field. You will build genuine relationships with trade customers, proactively identify sales opportunities, upsell products, and ensure every customer interaction leaves a lasting positive impression.
Sales & Customer Service
1. Act as a brand ambassador at every delivery point – representing PYM Coatings with professionalism, product knowledge, and a positive attitude.
2. Identify and pursue upsell and cross‐sell opportunities during deliveries – recommending complementary products, promotions, or solutions to trade customers.
3. Build trusted, long‐term relationships with repeat customers at trade sites, marinas, boat yards, and industrial facilities.
4. Capture and relay customer feedback, competitor insights, and new business leads back to the internal sales team.
5. Handle delivery exceptions (absent recipient, damaged goods, access issues) with professionalism, clear communication, and a solution‐first mindset.
6. Assist customers with unloading where safe to do so, always projecting a helpful and professional brand image.
Delivery & Logistics
7. Collect, load, and secure all deliveries using a weight‐appropriate loading plan, ensuring ADG compliance for paints and coatings.
8. Deliver products on time and in full to trade customers, construction sites, marinas, and industrial facilities according to the daily run sheet.
9. Obtain a signed Proof of Delivery (POD) on every consignment, recording recipient details, time, and delivery exceptions.
10. Conduct pre‐start vehicle safety checks before each shift; maintain a complete vehicle logbook and report any defects immediately.
11. Maintain DG placarding, vehicle cleanliness, and service schedule compliance at all times.
Warehouse Support
12. Support warehouse operations between delivery runs: pick and pack, tinting, goods receiving, and general warehouse duties.
13. Tint paint accurately to customer specifications using computerized tinting machines, ensuring colour consistency across batches.
14. Receive inbound supplier deliveries with 3‐way matching accuracy and label/place‐away all products in their assigned bin locations.
Essential Qualifications
15. Valid driver's licence (MR or above preferred).
16. Proven sales or customer service experience.
17. Strong communication & relationship‐building skills.
18. Confident, self‐motivated, and customer‐focused.
19. Physically fit with safe manual handling practices.
20. High attention to detail & accurate record keeping.
Highly Regarded
21. Experience in trade, paint, or coatings industry.
22. DG (Dangerous Goods) transport licence or awareness.
23. Familiarity with Unleashed or similar WMS/ERP.
24. Forklift licence (LF).
25. Knowledge of paint tinting / colour matching.
