A leading Queensland government department is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Accountant or Finance Manager for a P04 level role. The Position:
* Undertake internal reviews into current practices, processes, and results. This will involve working across multiple stakeholders in the department to understand current processes and identify any areas for improvement.
* Review existing policies and procedures.
* Write updated policies and financial management practices that can be applied across the department.
* Review fixed assets across the department and manage an annual stock take.
* Standard financial reporting responsibilities.
Your Profile:
This role will be an ideal opportunity if you can demonstrate:
* Commercial experience with an interest in transitioning into a government role or if you have government experience you would like to expand on.
* An enjoyment for project-based work that is not consumed by the traditional end of month accounting processes.
* An ability to build strong working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
* An aptitude for asking highly effective questions to understand existing processes and systems.
* Experience writing/updating policies and procedures.
* Experience managing stock takes.
* Expertise on ERP systems.
