Here at Followmont we have a rare and exciting opportunity for a hard‐working, customer‐focused, self‐driven operator to join our high‐performing PUD team on a Full Time basis. This is a Full Time role that will be part of a fast‐paced team environment focusing on building strong customer relationships through local freight deliveries and pickups.
Key Responsibilities
* Local pickups and deliveries throughout the Cairns region.
* Flexible with working varied hours, including weekends and overtime with penalty rates 07:00 to 15:06.
* Work to deliver high levels of service to our customers through effectively transporting general freight supporting the Cairns community.
* Take responsibility for safely and securely loading and unloading a variety of freight with some manual handling of parcel freight.
* Complete daily vehicle inspections and necessary paperwork including pre‐start checks as well as filling out run sheets, PODs and logbooks.
* Operate a forklift or pallet jack to load and unload general freight (Regional only) (Optional).
Qualifications
* Hold a current MR license (and Forklift Ticket (LF)) with proven experience operating a Heavy Vehicle for a minimum of 2 years.
* Have a strong level of resilience and ability to problem solve coupled with the capability to work within a fast‐paced, high‐pressure environment.
* Have a passion for going the extra mile to provide high level service to all our customers.
* Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse customer base.
* Ability to pass a pre‐employment medical, including a drug and alcohol screen, as well as a criminal history check if required.
