About the Role
As an experienced PHP Developer, you'll lead the design and development of backend applications, working closely with front-end engineers, project managers, and analysts to deliver robust and secure digital solutions.
You'll influence architecture, drive best practice, and support junior developers through mentoring and technical guidance. This role suits someone who enjoys solving complex problems and improving the quality, performance, and maintainability of modern applications.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead end-to-end development of PHP applications
* Contribute to architecture decisions and technical direction
* Write clean, efficient, well-documented code
* Mentor and guide junior developers
* Conduct code reviews and ensure best practices
* Optimise performance, security, and reliability
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the SDLC
Skills & Experience
* Strong proficiency in PHP and modern frameworks (Laravel, Symfony, or similar)
* Experience with MySQL or similar relational databases
* Proficient with Git and CI/CD workflows
* Strong problem-solving capability and attention to detail
* Effective communication and team collaboration skills
* Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
