Job Overview
The successful applicant will be responsible for the day‐to‐day running of the MSK outpatient physiotherapy department at Ysbyty Aneurin Bevan. The post holder will lead a dynamic team in the delivery of musculoskeletal services, supporting clinicians working as First Contact Practitioners in local GP surgeries.
There is protected non‐clinical time within this role to complete the necessary day‐to‐day operational running of the department and to lead and contribute to project and service improvement work streams.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main Duties
The team lead role is a 70/%30 split between clinical and non‐clinical work, and the candidate must therefore be able to demonstrate the ability to manage a complex and challenging clinical caseload independently. The post holder will be responsible for providing clinical supervision to staff and students. Alongside their clinical competence, the team leader is also proficient at staff management and should have a working knowledge of the respective HR policies. Candidates will need experience in leading teams and/or projects to be considered for this role and should use their organisational and time‐keeping skills to balance the clinical and non‐clinical demands of this role.
The team leader will have a close working relationship with the physiotherapy team and the administrative team in Ysbyty Aneurin Bevan and will also collaborate with the operational manager and clinical lead physiotherapist to monitor and manage performance. Excellent communication is an essential attribute; applicants must demonstrate strengths in communication with patients, the public and fellow staff members, as well as competence in written communication. The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable and applications in Welsh and English are equally welcome.
