Communications Advisor opportunity Approx. $70-$75 per hour plus Super dependent on experience Assignment duration is up to 31 December 2026. Early June start Gold Coast suburbs location About the role: Government agency requires an experienced Communications Advisor to join them on a short-term contract for a period up to 31 December 2026 based in the Gold Coast suburb location. You will be responsible for providing strategic community and stakeholder management services for community management, media relations, issues management, public affairs and stakeholder relationship management across a major infrastructure program. Responsibilities and duties: As the Communications Advisor, you will have responsibility for the following: Provide strategic communication advice to project leaders on stakeholder management and sensitive conversations. Prepare project communication materials including media releases, briefings, newsletters, speeches and stakeholder updates. Develop and implement stakeholder engagement and communication strategies. Coordinate community and stakeholder engagement activities for infrastructure projects across the region. Provide advice on media relations, issues management, crisis communications and community engagement. Plan and deliver key project events, launches and media opportunities. Support and train project staff and consultants to strengthen communication and stakeholder engagement capability. Develop communication processes and initiatives that support project objectives and successful delivery. Qualification and Knowledge: To be successful in this role you must demonstrate: Tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations or equivalent years’ work experience would be highly desirable Experience in major infrastructure project environments will also be highly regarded. Knowledge of the infrastructure planning lifecycle. IAP2 or equivalent training in community engagement and public participation. Previous experience in dealing with difficult stakeholders and critical conversations.
