Postdoctoral Research Fellow/Research Fellow in Crop Quantitative Genetics
Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation (QAAFI) – Full-time, fixed-term position up to 3 years. Base salary is $82,****** – $109,****** + 17 % superannuation (Academic Level A) or $114,****** – $136,****** + 17 % superannuation (Academic Level B). Based at the St Lucia Campus.
About This Opportunity
Join UQ's QAAFI to develop innovative AI-guided breeding methodologies across multiple crop species. Work with industry and research partners, and contribute to the university's AI-guided breeding pipeline. The role offers affiliation with the UQ-led ARC Training Centre in Predictive Breeding.
Key Responsibilities
Research: Contribute to an innovative program in quantitative genetics and genomics, collaborate on projects, seek and manage funding, publish in reputable journals, and participate in project discussions.
Supervision & Development: Supervise students, recruit & manage employees, provide performance feedback, support training in predictive breeding, and resolve conflicts.
Service & Citizenship: Develop partnerships, mentor, engage in internal service roles, perform administrative functions, and uphold university values.
Qualifications
Completion or near completion of a PhD in quantitative genetics, crop genomics or plant breeding.
Emerging research profile with publications in refereed journals and conference presentations.
Experience in service roles and external activities.
For Level B: Growing research profile, track record of funding, quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervision experience of honours and research students.
